Free Thornbury training courses

New Thornbury training courses start next week, on 21/09/2020.

The training courses are for individuals who are struggling with their mental health and would benefit from making connections in their local community, and those who do not hold at least a level 2 qualification.

Thornbury training courses on offer are as follows:

  • Accredited First Aid at work (For adults aged 19+ with few or no qualifications, or adults experiencing other barriers to work)
  • Introduction to First Aid
  • Arts and crafts for wellbeing
  • Food and mood (nutrition and wellbeing)
  • Refresh your English
  • Get that job!

Courses start from 21 September and run until December. Each course varies in length. Some are just 1 day, and some are up to 8 weeks long. The training courses are run by the South Gloucestershire Community Learning and Skills Service, and they will be held face to face, unless coronavirus guidelines change.

Carers Support Centre is supporting carers and former carers aged 16+ to feel more confident and better prepared in seeking training and employment opportunities across Bristol, South Gloucestershire, BANES & North Somerset.

Our employment team are currently working from home to support you. If you need support to access work, training or volunteering, please contact us. Or, if you’re already working, but are struggling with juggling work alongside caring, please see what support we can offer.

Carers will receive one-to-one tailored support that identifies their needs, creating a supportive action plan that fits around their caring responsibilities.
