Short Breaks Study

Thanks to those of you who filled out a survey on accessing short breaks earlier this year.

The main findings include:

  • Many barriers were listed around accessing short breaks, with the main reasons being that it is; too expensive, that there wasn’t an appropriate service available, that it is too complicated to arrange, being worried about the replacement care provided not being of an adequate standard and that the person being cared for not wanting someone else to look after them.
  • 63% said that they would like to see an improved service or increased service provision to make it easier for carers to access short breaks.
