Carers Week 2022 summary

Thank you to everyone who got involved in Carers Week. Although Carers Week is over for another year, it is important to remember that we are still here to support carers of all ages in Bristol and South Gloucestershire.

If you have any questions about your caring role, or think you might be a carer, call CarersLine on 0117 965 2200.

Here are some of the things we did throughout Carers Week:

Our Chief Executive Tim and carer Amanda appeared on BBC Radio Bristol. Listen to the Carers Week segment here, starting from 12 minutes in: CLICK HERE

Our Young Carers Support Worker Carina did an article with Refinery29 about her experiences as a young carer: CLICK HERE

Tim also featured in this press release from Carers Trust about cost of living for unpaid carers: CLICK HERE

Plus:

We hosted a Carers Week open meeting, which carers could join in person and on Zoom. Carers could get support and advice, meet other carers and enjoy an exhibition and a massage.

Our Hospital Carers Liaison Workers had stalls at Southmead Hospital and Bristol Royal Infirmary where they met people new to caring, long term carers and identified new carers.

Carers Support Manager Dawn took part in UWE’s Carers Week panel and Senior Carers Support Officer Jan took part in a webinar for Osborne Clarke.
