On 14 November, Sirona Care and Health is holding an event for people who live with someone with Parkinson’s about the services to carers offered at Carers Support Centre. This event is bookable by partners or family members who care for and live with someone with Parkinson’s.
We run monthly activity groups for carers. These are small, informal and friendly. Why not find out more and give one go?
Bristol City Council has launched a consultation relating to Carers Services and they are seeking carers’ views. They want to hear from as many carers as possible and will be running consultation events across the city in November.
We are working in partnership with Marie Curie to run a new monthly carers’ café in their shop on the Gloucester Road. The charity has transformed one of its shops to include a walk-in support centre for people living with any type of terminal condition and their carers.
We are delighted that former Bath and England rugby union player Gareth Chilcott has become our first patron. Until 2015, he cared for his wife, who suffered with a brain tumour.
Winter can be a difficult time. When your time is already stretched, the shorter, darker days can make it to feel impossible to do something for yourself. But, it’s important to do things to take care of yourself. Whether you have 15 minutes or a few hours to spare, we’ve put together some ideas that might help you take a break.
